Prayers of the Faithful
Every week a large amount of requests are often personally made in prayer, asking God or indeed giving favours received. This is done, perhaps silently, lighting a candle or asking a friend to pray for a particular petition.
The Prayers of the Faithful hold an important place in the context of the Sunday Eucharist. In many ways they represent the Prayer where we need to be nourished by the Bread of Life. Similarly they represent our Thanksgivings and Praise, to a God who reminds us in the Scriptures “Ask and you will receive, Seek and you will find”.
Our experience of the Annual Parish Novena is a powerful affirmation on Petitions and Prayers of Thanksgivings. In an effort to make our Prayers personal, reflecting the real needs of our faith community; please write your personal petition or thanksgiving, where these prayers will be remembered and some prayed aloud in a general way at our Sunday Masses.
The Petitions are to be filled out in the Candle/Shrine area of the Church. May the good Lord listen to our prayers. Amen.

A time to Think
Fr Paddy Byrne
Fáilte and welcome wherever you are.
We are situated in the beautiful Barrow Valley in the county of Carlow in Ireland. The modern Parish of Bagenalstown, (Muine Bheag) includes the ancient ecclesiastical districts of Dunleckney, Lorum, Nurney, Sliguffe, Ballyellen, Fenagh and part of Agha. The modern Catholic parish has three Catholic Churches and four Churches of the Church of Ireland tradition serving about 6000 people.
We hope you find this website interesting and informative, challenging and creative. We hope to keep it up to date and include our weekly Notices. Our main purpose is to reach people where they are with the Good News of Jesus Christ set in a modern context. We invite you to be interactive with our web-site and with the parish and we welcome suggestions, information and ideas for improving our parish and our web-site.
It's great to make this move into the 21st century and we thank all who made this possible in association with the P. R. group of the Muinebheag Parish Pastoral Council.
We wish every success to this venture.
May God be with all today and forever.
Le gach dhea-ghui
Declan Foley(P.P.)
